The geese are flying south and soaring high <br />In a precise formation in the autumn sky. <br />Stop, look, and listen as the day begins, <br />Hear the honk of the geese in the rising winds. <br /> <br />The geese proclaim Nature's ardent esteem, <br />And emerge from their home, a lake or stream. <br />They fill one's eyes with beauty and awe, <br />A memorable exhibition that is pleasing to all. <br /> <br />The geese are on an instinctive, yearly flight. <br />They prepare and group together by day or night. <br />We do not ask questions because we know why <br />Their intended purpose is noted as they fly by. <br /> <br />Nature does not issue an order or command <br />The migration of the geese throughout the land. <br />Be cognizant of this event with a worthy thought, <br />Their flight south, a winter message they brought.<br /><br />Joseph T.
