A sun sets beyond the horizon, <br />As I stand and watch his rays <br />drowning in the sea, <br />I can feel the sand slowly sweeping away <br />beneath my own feet…… <br /> <br />Time has come and flown by, <br />Washing away the words we wrote in sand, <br />knowing that the waves will come one day <br />and take them away, <br />And our sandcastles have grown cracks, <br />With time, we’ll watch them crumble too <br />And mix with eternity, <br />for new hands to come, to build new castles <br />The many dreams we shared, <br />will be the kites drenched in water, <br />No more able to soar high…………… <br /> <br />For many decades did we spend <br />this life here, together <br />Now, as I stand and watch you set, <br />All your bright rays fading off, <br />Dissolving into the heart of this ocean, <br />I can feel, <br />my own sands draining away from beneath, <br />Maybe, to another sunset…………….<br /><br />Anu Joshy<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/as-a-sun-sets/
