No one ever sees me. <br />They all think I’m just fine. <br />Inside, my heart is breaking, <br />So, I cry and I cry. <br />Still, no one seems to care. <br />These scars left inside me never let me go. <br />The mistakes once made, <br />The hearts once broken, <br />Are now the scars I hide inside. <br />My heart hasn’t stopped breaking. <br />I don’t know why. <br />This never ending piece of broken glass <br />Is already shattered into millions of tiny pieces. <br />You don’t have to step on them. <br />Those words you say only make it worse. <br />You don’t know who I am <br />Or even where I’m from. <br />Still, you stand and stare. <br />You talk about me <br />As if I can’t hear <br />Or as if I’m not there. <br />My heart’s already broken. <br />I know that no one cares. <br />I know that no one sees me. <br />You don’t have to make it worse than it already is.<br /><br />Hannah Diane Williams<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/why-does-a-broken-heart-have-to-bleed/
