Mother, why is Earth so silent? <br />Silent day and night, <br />Not to sun or stars complaining <br />Of her grievous plight. <br /> <br />Not complaining, calmly making <br />Her eternal round... <br />Grim when drinking blood, breath-taking <br />When gay flowers abound. <br /> <br />Dust to dust...
