We really don’t need a reason for the season <br />It’s the day after Thanksgiving and its 3 in the morning <br />And all the good people the stores they are storming <br />Go through a red light for whatever season. <br />It’s alright now it’s the Holiday Season. <br />Sales clerk’s have to say Happy Holiday’s or Season Greetings <br />If they say Merry Christmas they will get fired today <br />And go home without any holiday pay. <br />30 days and 30 nights <br />Of holiday toys and holiday lights <br />Holiday parties when will they ever end <br />Holiday traffic cut off a friend <br />Cut him off once twice lets do it again <br />Can’t wait for the kids to come home again <br />So they can spend all their time with their friends <br />Pound after pound hour after hour <br />The Holiday season begins to sour <br />Christmas Eve and the trees are all lit <br />Who is on the rooftop? <br />But the neighbor next store <br />Doing some holiday shopping <br />He doesn’t want to steal from the store <br />Its Christmas morning and no one is awake <br />Jesus is born and the whole world quakes<br /><br />Brian Kilpatrick<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/up-on-the-roof/
