I’m blessed; I’ve made it through a storm;
The ones life puts us through.
I’m blessed to have my first child;
At the age of forty-two.

I’m blessed that my car is paid for,
No car notes to be done.
I’m blessed to have food to eat;
It’s been times, I didn’t have none.
I
’m blessed, when I woke up this morning,
My eyes, they could see.
I’m blessed, when I stood to walk;
My feet could carry me.

I’m blessed for every breath I take;
No machines helping me.

I’m blessed to have a toilet inside my house;
Growing up, our toilet was outside,
Called the outhouse.

I’m blessed that I’m in my right mind;
I can make decisions on my own.
I’m blessed to have a roof over my head,
A place of peace, called home.

I’m blessed; my husband is a good provider;
He’s gentle and patient too.
In spite of all my imperfections,
His love is kind and true.

I’m blessed.

Copyright © 2009 by-Phyllis Strong

Phyllis Strong

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-m-blessed-4/
