Paula Glynn - My Lucky Signs

2014-10-29 1 Dailymotion

Fingers crossed, I say, as I knock on wood,
And a black cat means my lucky day,
For I am superstitious in a lucky way,
I always look for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow,
For the rainbow comes after the rain and brings untold luck,
I avoid walking under ladders and miss the cracks in the pavement,
And I carry a lucky four leaf clover that brings good fortune,
And a ladybird lands on my shoulder, telling of a good day,
For I am superstitious in a good old fashioned way,
And I do love my lotions and potions that cleanse away the bad,
For magic is in my blood and I truly believe in the traditions to be had,
Especially when a money spider lands on my hair or trousers,
For money spiders are supposed to bring great fortune,
Or even just an early payday and gorgeous pair of red shoes,
For Dorothy clicked her heels and wished she was home,
Just as I wish upon the stars and live a happy life and not be alone,
For all these superstitions seem strange to you,
But I truly believe in psychics and white magic,
And know that my lucky signs help my wishes come true,
For all my dreams are magic and like true blue,
And I know that the full moon will help love come my way,
As I carry a love charm and throw salt over my shoulder.

Paula Glynn

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-lucky-signs/
