The bottle, the pills, the pain and the joy <br />People talk about the ways to fall asleep <br />Asleep to that dream land <br />Where the bottles pills pain and joy, all coincide <br />All meet for the endless fusion of happiness. <br />But this has been talked about to the end and back <br />Instead I wish to ask for not what made you go to sleep <br />But for that that made you get up. <br />I used to rise for naught but another shot at that bottle. <br />That bottle that would be the death of me <br />For it is only then that I visited the land of Honalee <br />The land of joy and happiness. Away from my pain <br />Hell ill drink to that. <br />But there must be a better way <br />For this is my one way ticket to the only hell I shall never escape <br />It was then that out of the corner of my eye <br />I saw a flash of black touch my world. <br />The flick of black hair. <br />The stare of brown eyes. <br />It was then I saw you. <br />Only you who could listen to my life and not leave <br />Only you who could counter me <br />Make me need not only you, <br />But need to mend, yet not bend your past <br />The pain was never lost on your worrying eyes <br />Never reflected back upon the gates of my hell <br />You held my burdens, held my worlds <br />Only you who could become my Atlas <br />Only you who could need me to need again <br />Only you who could cause me to trust again <br />Only you who could replace the bottle <br />Only you who could cause me to wake up in the morning <br />Only you who could finish me.<br /><br />Dillon Crawford<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/what-makes-you-wake-up/
