I look unto the passing clouds <br />In which my dreams were made and lost, <br />And watch them as they sail away <br />Upon the wind that blows across the evening sky. <br />As each one disappears <br />Over the distant horizon and slowly melt into the sunset, <br />I know that I am helpless to stop them <br />And I shall never see them again. <br />And yet I pray they'll find another soul <br />Who shall look upon them in the same way as I, <br />And maybe for them <br />Their dreams shall all come true. <br />Alas for me <br />The time has expired, <br />Too late to change the suffering I have endured, <br />Too late to change the memories of the past. <br />So no longer shall I dream <br />For now the clouds in which they sailed, <br />Hold nothing more than teardrops <br />Which glisten as they fall towards the cold, hard ground. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Copyright Andrew Blakemore 2011<br /><br />ANDREW BLAKEMORE<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-look-unto-the-passing-clouds/
