You’re all alone in the darkness on the deck. <br />It’s a Saturday night and you’re hurt again. <br />So I made you laugh at me because what the heck, <br />love should be easy. <br /> <br />She’s packing up to go on out with friends. <br />She’s leaving you behind because it’s girls-night-out again. <br />That’s when you took my hand and sat me down on the park bench <br />and said that you needed me. <br /> <br />You said that you’ve been crying in your sleep at night. <br />You know you need someone to help you make this right. <br />You’re breaking down because you’ve been holding on <br />when you know that she’s already gone. <br /> <br />You fake a smile when I try to make you laugh. <br />I say: “Come on now, it can never be so bad? ” <br />but your brown eyes turned and looked away, <br />like you couldn’t find the words to say. <br /> <br />She’s been gone for almost three years now, <br />and you’ve been moving on forward because somehow <br />you fell in love with someone else while in-between <br />the heartache and break-up scene. <br /> <br />and I’ve been missing your brown eyes all day. <br />Keep staring out the window just incase you come my way, <br />because you’ve been sending me roses as if to say: <br />“Hey, love should be easy! ”<br /><br />Loraine Lotter<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/love-should-be-easy/
