He sits alone at the corner of the street <br />Not a penny in his pocket and nothing to eat <br />The sidewalk is where he makes his nightly bed <br />He can't remember when last he had a roof <br />over his head <br /> <br />He watches with a pitiful stare at those passing by <br />He stretches out his hand but no one gives him an eye <br />No one seems to care about how he must feel <br />His stomach grumbles begging for a decent meal <br /> <br />Constant solitude is his only friend <br />When I wonder, will his misery end <br />A homeless beggar but a human being <br />nonetheless; <br />Society's outcast, he's never shown any kindness <br /> <br />Day in, day out, his struggles remain the same <br />His ragged clothes is all that he owns to his name <br />He wanders about aimlessly through the town <br />But everywhere he goes they put him down <br /> <br />It would seem life dealt him a cruel blow <br />Alone is this cold world with no place to go <br />What will be this poor man's ultimate fate? <br />Its sad to see how others are so unfortunate<br /><br />Paul Adolphus<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/homeless-37/
