Alone <br />Surrounded by “friends” <br />Yet drowning in loneliness <br />Drinking from a cup “with love fetched” <br />But swallowing gulps of hatred <br /> <br />Lost <br />Treading the same path with everyone <br />But not knowing where to turn <br />Walking a road supposedly filled with brightness <br />Yet clouded and staggering in darkness <br /> <br />Confused <br />Hunted by guilt and pains of past acts <br />Stuck with the confusion of present tasks <br />Having dreams and beautiful pictures <br />But only chasing a mirage of a future <br /> <br />Then you came <br />For the first time I saw the rising of the sun <br />For the first time I felt a presence that brought warmth <br />For the first time I heard words that got life’s puzzles solved <br />And for the first time I knew the meaning of true love <br /> <br />And when I met you <br />I knew I had found the one thing that made me whole <br />I knew I had gotten a lover for my weary soul <br />The storm was gone and the brighter day had finally come <br />Heaven was down on earth because love had overcome <br /> <br />Now that you’re near <br />When you smile my world is filled with joy <br />When you move I soar beyond the sky <br />When you breathe I know that I’m alive <br />And when you speak I hear the sounds of love <br /> <br />How I remember like yesterday <br />The day when my world had a rebirth <br />A day that I wish never came to an end <br />A day whose memory will continuously live on <br />When I was touched by an angel with love<br /><br />Stewart Gideon<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/touched-by-an-angel-with-love/
