Floating on the tears of a woman <br />Men approach the shores of life <br />Sons born with the sins of their father <br />And forgiven by his wife <br /> <br />Nurtured by the love of a woman <br />Fed on the milk of her breast <br />He's taught early about compassion <br />And forgiveness of what's confessed <br /> <br />Within the shelter of a woman <br />He learns about right and wrong <br />She takes upon herself his burdens <br />And soothes him with gentle song <br /> <br />Laying in the arms of a woman <br />Feeling her breath upon his skin <br />Both their hearts are beating in tandem <br />New life's created within <br /> <br />Then, much sooner than he had planned for <br />The time comes for her to leave <br />Floating on the tears of a woman <br />He's whisked away alone to grieve<br /><br />The Poet Darkling<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/tears-of-a-woman-4/
