All alone, in a hell she used to call home, sweet Lily <br />tells her lies. In an empty room, nothing more than a <br />hole in the wall, sweet Lily wonders why. She wonders why <br />she's never met her family? Why is she black and her <br />brother is white? But possibly the heaviest question <br />on Lily's ten year old mind is, 'Will I ever find true <br />happiness? ' Tears are a constant companion to Lily. They join <br />Lily as she becomes entranced by the cold, lifeless, blood- <br />thirsty life that she has known. In ten years, Lily has <br />grown from a delightful baby, to a depressed adolescent. <br />Her 'Parents'climb into the little wall and see <br />her crying. They decide to 'give her something to cry about.' <br />Unforgivably, they beat her, at one point taking turns. Time <br />seems to be her enemy as it goes no where. Finally, her <br />ten year old body can't handle the Abuse any longer. <br />One last time, Lily looks up at her adoptive householders <br />and asks 'Why did I run to you? ' They knew exactly <br />what she meant.
