They're all like minded, <br />they dress the same, <br />they're in the group, <br />safely, together, <br />following the same rules, <br />the same beliefs, <br />never wavering, <br />never thinking <br />for themselves, <br />outside the box, <br />or ‘helicoptering in' from above, <br />no looking at the question <br />from a different perspective. <br />They're locked in <br />by each other <br />not wishing to rock the boat <br />they stick to their beliefs, <br />they stick together, <br />and I look at them <br />and I wonder. <br />what would happen <br />if it all fell apart, <br />crumbled away <br />until one day <br />there was only one left, <br />one little person, <br />standing up <br />saying <br />‘this is what I believe'. <br />and then I shake, <br />and then I quake <br />to think <br />that's all it takes <br />just one <br />at the right time <br />in the right place <br />under the right conditions <br />to ignite a hell hole! <br />It's the human condition, <br />the sticky clique, <br />empowering, <br />the collective.<br /><br />Ruth Walters<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-human-condition-3/
