The curtains drawn <br />Last visitor gone <br />I'm alone with my art <br />Holding a feeble heart <br /> <br />People used to idolize me <br />My youth, my charms my wealth <br />Picture of perfection in motion <br />God's once shiny locomotion <br /> <br />No one really knows the inside of me <br />But the sheen outside of my skin <br />Attraction blinded by the lid <br /> While my soul dwells in the skid <br /> <br />I am worn, an old dying volcano <br />Empty of life's lava and energy <br />Yet still what family see in me <br />The potential of they want to be <br /> <br />My forest green stripped to the core <br />The land barren and distressed <br />All eyes caused me to shed <br />The last crust from my bread <br /> <br />I know love and everlasting peace <br />I gave and agree till all agree <br />How does my soul lift every weight? <br />Driving the engines of all freight <br /> <br />And who witness my own burden <br />When I shed my veil late at night <br />I am alone in my journey <br />All chatter seals my tourney <br /> <br />Do not cry for me for I need <br />Not your sympathy or empathy <br /> Open your eyes to human's misery <br />Step out of your own tyranny <br /> <br />Tears of this poem dry <br />From so much hurt and cry <br />The promise of hope to be sold <br />By the voice of death to be told <br /> <br />Copyright Leaking Pen 2012 <br />September 18,2012<br /><br />Leaking Pen<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/tears-of-a-poem/
