The cloud shrouded moon on lowland moor <br />The mist sinking in real quick <br />The smell of heather and peat <br />Clatter of distant hooves. <br />Hooves from spectral horses <br />That still pull the london coach. <br />On partly cobbled tracks my dog reacts <br />To shadows unseen in the evening light <br />A candle glimmers from the old house yonder <br />The house that has been derelict <br />For forty years or more, take a look? <br />Unsure to venture more I ponder. <br />Home again for a mug of tea...with a tot of whiskey I think.<br /><br />Craig Anderson<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/misty-night-on-the-moors/
