Everytime I open up <br />Everytime I trust <br />I get hurt <br />My heart went from whole <br />To half <br />To pieces <br />Each person I learned to trust leaves <br />And with them goes a part of me <br />I have nearly no heart <br />I can't trust I can't be open <br />I opened my heart one last time <br />In hopes to not get hurt <br />I kept to myself <br />Trying not to attach <br />So I don't lose what's left of my heart <br />My fear is to get hurt <br />To trust an be turned away <br />To open up an be shut out <br />Nightmare came reality <br />I opened to much <br />I attached so close <br />I trusted with my life <br />The emptiness was filled <br />Now I'm pushed away <br />You said you would be here <br />Your not like the rest <br />You'll always be here <br />I feel dead <br />Every part shattered <br />I gave you all I had <br />And once again got hurt <br />I learn to love <br />I learned to care <br />I even learned to try <br />Not to give up <br />I can't open again <br />This was the end <br />The final straw <br />What was my heart is gone <br />Nothing but a black hole now <br />Just a bunch of missing pieces<br /><br />Kerrie Maurer<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/missing-pieces-13/
