What happen to the days? <br />When a child not only raised by <br />His mother and father <br />But had the community as whole <br />To look out for him. <br />Oh our child! ! <br /> <br />Today we speak of <br />A child destroyed <br />A community massive destruction <br />Crime attraction <br />They say knowledge is life <br />But it is what they lack for <br />To whom is the child for? <br /> <br />Gone are the days <br />When the child had respect for their elders <br />Today it is all dismissed <br />They fight with no explanation <br />Push their way to the front of <br />The queues forgetting their origins. <br /> <br />Drugs have become the rulers of the day <br />Thugs are now dreams-makers of every child <br />Parties made them go wild <br />The mother is now the monster of the day <br />The father is now the nightmare of today <br /> <br />Educate them, <br />Show them the way <br />Today is a better day <br />A child is not only for a mother <br />But the community <br />Fathers another chance <br />To bring about change <br />And a brighter tomorrow <br />Not sorrow.<br /><br />Loveness Jamela<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/we-need-one-another/
