NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />A village in central Sri Lanka turned into disaster scene on Wednesday (October 29) when it was hit by three kilometer wide landslide.<br/> <br />Officials say the slide buried more than 140 houses and killed at least ten people. More than 250 others are still missing.<br/> <br />Monsoon rains have drenched the area near Haldumulla, about 192 km (120 miles) east of the capital of Colombo in recent days.<br/> <br />Disaster officials say villagers had been advised to move away from the area because of the landslide threat, but many did not heed the warning.
