In a sense of determination to find out who I really was; <br />I listened. <br />I listened to the voices that pleaded for somebody to hear what they had to say. <br />I despised those voices. <br />All my life they mocked me; <br />You're too ugly <br />You're not good enough <br />You wont succeed. <br />Now the voices were different. <br />They spoke softly, kindly; <br />They apologized for leaving me isolated for so long, <br />For allowing me to become just a walking body, <br />somebody who was dead, but still alive. <br />But, their words couldn't change me now. <br />Once you realize something your focus never leaves it until it changes. <br />I couldn't change who I was.
