A father figure, <br />always had me looking up. <br />Oblivious to so many things, <br />only love filled my cup. <br /> <br />With a sudden turn of events, <br />I find myself alone, <br />and forced the apple of knowledge, <br />of things best left unknown. <br /> <br />When I learn of life and laws, <br />I suddenly see my flaws <br />and gaping cracks in the ground, <br />life has me looking down. <br /> <br />Always the odd one out, <br />but innocence kept me cozy. <br />Now I know what life is about, <br />the days don't go by so easy. <br /> <br />This world is a great place, <br />if you don't have a heart. <br />I loved you without holding back, <br />but you laughed at me from the start. <br /> <br />I want to rest my head, <br />but I see no one when I look around. <br />Looking up I think about my daddy, <br />the question, if he would understand me.<br /><br />Karan Patade<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/distant-spaces/
