I’ve seen him play a dozen times, <br />watched him strike that familiar chord. <br />He’s never lost the joy of youth <br />as he starts, again, his song. <br />Others might go through the motions, <br />bored to death with the hits they play <br />Springsteen lives within the moment <br />until the last notes fade away. <br />Like Derek Jeter on the base paths <br />Or, if I might steal DiMaggio’s line, <br />Springsteen plays on for the fan <br />who’s seeing him for the first time.<br /><br />John F.
