The sun warms me to my core. <br /> <br />The green grass engulfs me <br /> <br />I watch the clouds float by. <br /> <br />Condensation creeps down the glass. <br /> <br />Ice slowly disappearing, <br /> <br />Turning my bright yellow drink cloudy. <br /> <br />Birds fly above me in a perfect arrow. <br /> <br />Flies buzz in my ear <br /> <br />While bees pollinate the petunias <br /> <br />I hear the laughter of children in the distance. <br /> <br />The pool is the color of the bright blue sky, <br /> <br />The light breeze creating wave. <br /> <br />It's hard to read with the glare of the sun, <br /> <br />but as long as the sun is hot, <br /> <br />and my lemonade is sweet, <br /> <br />nothing else matters.<br /><br />Lila Holmes<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/summer-245/
