Sometimes we sit alone <br />with the Lord and a prayer <br />to keep us company. <br />We need the solitude <br />to refresh our thoughts <br />that sometimes go astray, <br />to put them back on track <br />making us feel secure <br />in our mind and body <br />to face all our challenges <br />for one more day. <br />Although we sit in solitude <br />we are never on our own <br />the voices of friends and family <br />are never far away <br />to give us comfort <br />on any given day. <br />Solitude is not loneliness, <br />but just a state <br />we need to be <br />from time to time <br />letting the world and its troubles <br />leave us far behind. <br /> <br />5 July 2014<br /><br />David Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/solitude-is-not-loneliness/
