Empty and drained as a fruitless tree <br />Caught in a desert storm <br />Such a feeling overtakes me <br />When I sense you might be gone <br /> <br />Rooted to the ground <br />Without the means to survive <br />I start to wonder what is the point <br />Of fighting to stay alive <br /> <br />Why struggle <br />To make it everyday <br />When I know that my other half <br />Is leaving me astray <br /> <br />Remembering how you made me feel <br />As I look back at how it used to be <br />A blooming oasis in the midst of the desert <br />And not just a lonesome damaged tree <br /> <br />Embracing this special feeling <br />That steers my senses <br />I become too frail and weak <br />To keep up my defences <br /> <br />In spite all my efforts <br />Uncontrollably in the wind I sway <br />Pleading in my proud assertive nature <br />For you to stay <br /> <br />From afar I see your shadow <br />With arms open wide <br />Tired of keeping this internal battle <br />I leave my fears behind <br /> <br />Hopeful I run towards you <br />No longer a lifeless tree <br />Yet a blossoming willow <br />Grateful that she can finally truly be!<br /><br />Lara A.
