Dancing with fever, angst and fun, <br />Underneath the dazzling, disco lights, <br />Waiting to meet their king of hearts, <br />On these long, delusional nights, <br />Hustle and bustle, with some spilt drinks <br />On the sidelines, <br />While ladies elegantly, clink glasses of the finest of wines, <br />They dance with shimmering hair and made up faces, <br />With desire in their moves at differenr paces, <br />The disco lights, entices the night, <br />To deliver love, but more likely will entice, just lust, <br />Hard to find anybody to trust, <br />Dreams come crashing down, <br />Fairytales take a look around the dance floor, <br />And flee out the door, <br />Into the lonely streets of the towns. <br />Regardless the ladies continues to dance creating beautiful images, <br />In their colourful gowns, <br />Wishing for the chemistry to ignite, <br />All in a night out with hearts that fight, <br />To charm with their mask of illusion, <br />The kings of the night club, only cause confusion, <br />Faitytales again, look around the dance floor, <br />And flee out the door, <br />Not wanting to stay for more, <br />Having to listen to drunken bores, <br />Time stops, as images collide, <br />Small talk becomes a chore, <br />Sincerity flees too, with nobody to connect with and confide, <br />Romance is in the lie of the uplifting trance, <br />While they create magic as they dance!<br /><br />Hazel Durham<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/fairytales-on-the-run/
