When days turn to night, <br />And the skies lose their light, <br />A warrior sits, searching... <br />Trying with all her might <br />To find one more reason left to fight... <br /> <br />It's when night time falls, <br />She relives the days of bliss <br />But she could never have imagined such pain as this. <br />In her bottomless cries, in her regret <br />A warrior, once strong, longs to forget <br /> <br />The feeling of betrayal is very real, <br />And nothing can numb the pain she feels. <br />Whilst doubts have set in, <br />The hurt is still reeling, <br />And she begs of her mind to let go of this feeling. <br /> <br />But her heart has been torn from her chest. <br />And letting him close, <br />Has left her with emptiness <br /> <br />With regret, <br />She stands her ground, <br />She buries her feelings, <br />Never to be found <br />And whilst the walls around her had crumbled, <br />She rebuilds them higher than before <br />She knows it won't be the same <br />But can no longer have her heart played like a game. <br /> <br />...Whilst the warrior tried <br />She found nothing but loneliness inside <br />And whilst it's not hard to point blame, <br />She won't say his name <br />For all that would bring, <br />Is a heart full of pain<br /><br />Ashlee Woods<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/warrior-23/
