Let rain bring back the rhyme
from beyond mythical hills:
dry stony earth, this page,
cracks of my mind full-
ancient earth, like my dubious poem
losing scents over time,
the arid wind-rush sweeps down
even dusty thoughts-
in the wailful corner
words are chained prisoners-

I felt, pretty swollen clouds
with grey feet once swooped down
over this great banyan tree,
innocent green was disturbed
with blue awefulness around-
one bemused, silent, dim world
not dull, not dull by any means,
almost rife for an esoteric feel-

one day wet hours sprang here
upon my breast as the earth
waited unmoved in the bare rain
for the first violation-
upon her green corridors of life
embracing rain love- brought
blushful promiscuity:
under hedgy leaves' shades
secret sport of hues and smell
blooming another life-
I had no childish jingle upon lips-
rain's stealthy kiss washes me nude
turning me a rhyme of desire:

those trembling rains do not come,
donot come over my pen,
yet I am drowned in hope,
over this sodden earth
the rhyme in my vision
dancing back happily again...

Rites Ghosh

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/rain-and-the-rhyme-of-my-mind/
