Last night I dreamt that I stole a kiss <br />From the portuguese lady across the street <br />A lingering moonlit kiss it was <br />Sweet with the glow of village serenity <br />And innocent giving compassion <br />A kiss so pure that I could survive <br />On its memory alone <br />I awoke and smiled you know <br />That knowing smile <br />And walked straight into the garden <br />And onto the little road <br />It was then that she came at me <br />In her car full speed <br />From higher up the road <br />On a fateful mission <br />Of catastrophe <br />And mayhem <br />Her eyes full of mistrust and anger <br />I leapt to bare survival <br />And tumbled down the road <br />I guess she knows her God <br />Better than I do mine.<br /><br />Geoffrey Fafard<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-portuguese-kiss/
