This Ballad, So Bold! <br /> <br />I may only imagine how beautiful you are; <br />For far too long, our thoughts need travel too far <br />Afield to reach one another, Father to Daughter- <br />The distance, made greater still, with ignorance as it's fodder; <br />I may only imagine: I may not now recognize <br />The sound of your voice- I thusly realize <br />That I have not heard you utter a single word- <br />Though, want for same, the years have not deterred. <br />I may only imagine your smile's brilliance; <br />Mentation upon same fortifies my heart's resilience, <br />So that I might not otherwise be drawn asunder- <br />One day again, I shall rediscover the world that is your wonder; <br />This fortuitous futurity has been fanciful has been fancifully foretold- <br />I am ever-emboldened by this ballad, so bold! <br /> <br />Maurice Harris,17 February 2011<br /><br />Maurice Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/this-ballad-so-bold/
