Nocturne
- - - - - -
I was not alone
Me and my friend
Fuelled by sensation
On a winter evening
Strayed into a lone path
That led to a sloping country lane
For sacred view of sunset
Fields around felt a little chilled
And a soft breeze
Blowing upon the field
Beneath the lemon-coloured skies
And austere against the waning light
A large flock of young lasses
Gathering harvests
Like trilling birds
Looking for seeds to fill their nests
In the sweet moonlight
Singing soulful pristine tunes
As if them I have had
For many many years unto now
Melody of thousand years old
And all sounded peaceful
And the day calmly
Dwindling into night indelible…….

DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/nocturne-63/
