Riding on back of pride <br />I declared I will learn swimming at any cost <br />I know my mind was just shivering on the very thoughts of swimming <br />How can I let anyone know of my weakness <br />For I am too afraid water and swimming was beyond my imagination. <br />But I had to take the challenge in front of everyone. <br /> <br />Words sounded as if I am going for a war <br />Everyone wished me happy learning <br />With a brand new swimming suit <br />I went for swimming <br />Not in swimming pool <br />But in the river so cool <br />I felt the river froze me deep into ice <br />And felt these fishes are going to put me in frying pan <br />Jumped here and there as I was surrounded with beautiful fishes. <br />Suddenly a water snake hissed at me with gleamy eyes <br />As if it's going to kill me with poisonous crush. <br /> <br />It was the first day of the session <br />Sun was at peak <br />Giving us a weary look, not sure <br />Few funny crowd like you and me. <br /> <br />I just felt let me relax in the stone seen nearby <br />Suddenly I felt I am just floating in water <br />I felt I am floating on tortoise back <br />With a scream my dream ended <br />That I found myself riding on crocodile's back <br />In a pool of sweat I found myself swimming <br />Just had a heavy Humpty Dumpty fall <br />landed me with fractures in hospital <br />Doctors asked why this heavy fall <br />I said riding on crocodiles back <br />Made me fall from the bed <br />And found myself crawling in the hospitals bed! <br /> <br />Never declare anything when excited.......Ha..Ha..Smiles! <br /> <br />©ALL RIGHTS RESERVED BY GEETHA JAYAKUMAR 2014 <br />© 2014.<br /><br />Geetha Jayakumar<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/not-swimming-but-crawling-don-t-laugh/
