Beyond the deepest darkness there shines a great light <br />inextinguishably burning there so bright. <br />But the evil underlings of darkness joined as one <br />in their hatred against this brightly burning One <br /> <br />They were determined all of His goodness to quell <br />so they dragged Him into that pit of death and hell. <br />For the grave had now become their new battle ground <br />as all of Satan's minions gathered around. <br /> <br />Alone He stood firm and Satan's army engaged. <br />as in death's sepulchre that mighty battle raged <br />For His soul was ravaged as onward Satan fought <br />hoping to find one sin as he clawed and he wrought. <br /> <br />Ruthlessly and fervently for any sin they sought <br />as deeper and deeper into His soul they fought. <br />His strength was all dried up in His great weariness. <br />His tongue stuck to His mouth and still onward He pressed. <br /> <br />For three long days and nights without respite He fought <br />with those unearthly foes He wrestled and He wrought. <br />Satan roared and clawed at His body in despair <br />but he could find no sin and could not hold Him there. <br /> <br />Christ's victory over sin destroyed all Satan's powers <br />and won the fight with death that final foe of ours. <br />Then out from the tomb in triumph He arose <br />with victory and supremacy over all His foes. <br /> <br />Now this eternal Light, this Uncreated Beam <br />in which the Glory of God's greatness can be seen <br />is shining through Jesus Christ and burning so bright. <br />A pure and holy and an everlasting light <br /> <br />A light that's so much brighter than the noonday sun <br />radiates from the face of this Righteous One <br />As now this uncreated Light on earth does shine <br />and our earthly life can be enriched by the Divine.<br /><br />Royston Allen<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/beyond-the-deepest-darkness/
