He was an old man a cowherd <br />Finds his livelihood <br />By the grace of almighty <br />And from the meager income he gets. <br /> <br />He was also hard working <br />Used his leisure times in compound <br />The little space around the home <br />And tried his best with agriculture. <br /> <br />No space was left it blank <br />All over there thick vegetation <br />Vegetables, and plantain plants <br />Herbs, and fruit giving plants. <br /> <br />Nice to see the compound in greenery <br />People walks in the street enjoys <br />The scenery of the compound in farming <br />How capable the old man they exclaims. <br /> <br />Organic farm he perfectly maintained <br />Vegetables in such rare varieties <br />The cowherd carried a basket in his hand <br />To collect the cow dung while gracing. <br /> <br />He was not a qualified man in that sense <br />But he knows what a tree or plant wants <br />He loved it so much and liked it in seriousness <br />The commitment was great and himself happy. <br /> <br />Never he maintained a book of expenditure <br />Never he complained an account of losses <br />Always in a pretty mood of humor he kept <br />People felt a nice feeling while seeing him. <br /> <br />The Students of agriculture came to his farm <br />To know about the tricks of organic farming <br />They wondered the proven knowledge of the man <br />Invited for a presentation in the college. <br /> <br />Books will not makes wonders in the fields <br />Books and proven theories are to be made practical <br />For the use of farmers to make it a success <br />In the small farms and compounds makes it wonders <br />Our poor cowherd seems to be a roll model.<br /><br />Gangadharan nair Pulingat..<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/organic-farming/
