Psychiatric ward <br /> <br />I sit amongst <br />Other sick souls <br />It's Dr's waiting room <br />Trying to find succour <br /> <br />Each one of us <br />Has a story to tell <br />How we got here <br />Why we live our hell <br /> <br />No broken bones <br />No signs of sores <br />Just the pains within <br />That ails our souls <br /> <br />Some of us <br />Do display some tears <br />A nervous tick, <br />Imaginary fears <br />A vacant look <br />With smile so scant <br />It's all age groups <br />All classes and clan <br /> <br />The doctor says <br />It's chemistry at play <br />The brain chemicals <br />Gone awry and astray <br /> <br />Trying to set us right <br />Curing us of <br />melancholia and fright <br /> <br />But little do they know <br />What triggered this fight <br />Malady of <br />apocalyptic might <br /> <br />When I came <br />In to this world <br />Tabula rasa <br />was the word <br /> <br />Someone scratched <br />And broke that slate <br />Now I sit and contemplated <br />About my history, ruminate <br /> <br />Some day I will <br />Break the code <br />True password <br />To healthful abode<br /><br />Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/psychiatric-ward/
