I stare at this essence for what seems to be hours. <br />Something not seemingly complex has many powers. <br />I am awed by the sight, <br />However something happens, giving me a fright. <br />I fear this essence, yet how I wish to hold it. <br />It has an aura that swims when lit. <br />It is both evil and radiant in whole. <br />Most men abuse it, not knowing how it affects their soul. <br /> <br />Dances to its own beat it does. <br />It does because, <br />It can. <br />The essence has too short a life span. <br />That may be rightfully so. <br />It consumes everything as it does go. <br />It spreads, kills, and causes pain, <br />Seeking everything that it can gain. <br /> <br />Then as I stare I see all the radiance, <br />The light is meant to show guidance, <br />As well as knowledge and mystery, <br />Some consider it a monstrosity. <br />Does not matter to me what so ever, <br />I see and feel its endeavor. <br />It's hot because it is angry at the obstacles. <br />It is warm because it wants to try to find every beat possible.<br /><br />Hannah Bryson Price<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/radiance-13/
