Were alive in this moment, were alive in this time, <br />Everything that makes sense, seems to have its own rhyme, <br />And when I think about all the things unsaid, <br />That multiply and correlate inside of my head, <br />I think of all the people and I think of all the dread, <br />I think of all the unknown things that sleep under my bed, <br />And they keep me company as I fall asleep, <br />And dream of all the ways that my soul can keep, <br />The ideas and the notions that circle in my mind, <br />And revolve around the feeling that everything's all right, <br />And though there are the times where I make myself believe, <br />That nothing on this world is anything I need, <br />I couldn't live without these thoughts, <br />I wouldn't make it without, <br />My funny little world that sometimes fills me up with doubt, <br />So as I say goodnight to all these things keeping me awake, <br />I lay my head between my knees and pray my soul to take, <br />And close my eyes to open them to a dormant lively world, <br />That allows me to see the things recently unfurled, <br />I'm happy with the way that things have showed themselves to me, <br />And decide that my final thought is simply to just be.<br /><br />Mabry Jones<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/what-happens-when-you-re-alone/
