Loved to write as far back as memory goes <br />Without any thought for a verse to compose <br /> <br />Poetic expressions of innate creativity <br />So admire the effect and it's sensitivity <br /> <br />Words dive straight to heart like an arrow <br />Flying through sky piercing at point narrow <br /> <br />Each word so concise of fit and precise <br />Like a pearl sliding on a stringing device <br /> <br />Tucked in heart the mysterious emotions <br />Blossoming in the beauty of linguistic notions <br /> <br />Somewhere along the line few thoughts <br />Started to sprout upon the surface of mind <br /> <br />Needing words for quick expression <br />Before sinking fast in deep regression <br /> <br />As I attempted to catch those fireflies <br />Free form for novice was an easy choice <br /> <br />Reading and writing like twin sisters juxtapose <br />Wandering together in thicket of versification <br /> <br />For a long time my notebook was <br />A private garden for me to venture <br /> <br />Eventually it was shared by likewise minds <br />Enjoyed and scrutinized from expert eyes <br /> <br />Now I realize the constraint of writing <br />With proper rhythm, meter and rhyme <br /> <br />Framing a single thought in mot-juste <br />For a poetic flow sonorous and dulcet. <br /> <br />Choosing a sonnet or sestina for rhetoric <br />Lyric, limerick or verse is a tough query <br /> <br />Inventing a metaphor or picking from mythology <br />To keep secret and covert pain's methodology <br /> <br />Poetry!
