I have to be very restless today <br />With one more birthday knocking at my doors <br />I know it`s my day to spin a smile <br />And I am to feast on the delicacies of the day! <br /> <br />Somebody shakes my hands <br />A few are to greet on phone <br />And many greetings fill the inbox of my mobile <br />That is how my younger past flees from me! <br /> <br />Reminder of the autumn ahead is omniscient as usual <br />Ensconced in your smiles and words <br />The spring of my youth cannot bounce back <br />I must`nt hold out my hands to the moon either. <br /> <br />Every cloud has a silver lining - I taught <br />But I foresee more clouds ransacking the skies <br />And the beleaguered Sun fighting his way. <br />I won`t re teach anything... <br /> <br />I want to grab the absolute <br />I think your torches too show some light <br />And I can tread for a few yards. <br />I am a shadow of many of you, aha! <br /> <br />I may once want to pack up and go <br />To meet the truth that you hold high <br />But what to pack up? <br />Where is the bus to eternity halting for me? <br /> <br />This birthday knocks at my door <br />And I open my door with a smile <br />This smile is my strength <br />This is my long lost mother`s gift! <br /> <br />A frail image splashes across my mind <br />It tries to write in the sky <br />HAPPY RETURNS OF THE DAY.. <br />And I spin a smile once more.<br /><br />M.D Dinesh Nair<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/as-september-21-knocks-at-my-door-once-again/
