The ache <br />- - - - - - - <br />It's day again <br />With twilight near <br />And life, it seems <br />Is forever <br />This world is <br />But an ephemeral flower <br />Come man and women here <br />And depart at his Will <br />Little does he realize that <br />Death is perpetually <br />Dancing at his door <br />Yet man clings to his life <br />To his worldly beings <br />As if they belong to him forever <br />Erudite all we are <br />In garnering worldly treasures <br />But this treasure of truth <br />Nor do we notice, <br />Nor do we acquire <br />Chanting the Name Divine <br />Serving saints and sages <br />Serving the suffering and the poor <br />Loving and adoring the Creator <br />All seem but a throbbing pain deep within <br />Life without this ache for the Beloved <br />Without yearning for Him is indeed futile <br />But this aching pain gradually subsides <br />And eventually turns into peaceful bliss <br />When we see this aching <br />Drawing us closer to our beloved divine<br /><br />DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-ache-4/
