We laughed nervously <br />when we watched that documentary on YouTube— <br />on All Hallows Eve— <br />about that biological female in London <br />who had some of her flesh <br />surgically removed from her forearm <br />so the doctors could create the semblance of a penis— <br />the sight of which made us cringe and gasp— <br />not because of our heterosexuality <br />or because of any intolerance, <br />but because it looked like a prop used in a Rob Zombie movie— <br />but after the smoke cleared, <br />and after the stitches were removed, <br />the "penis" looked like something purchased from Wal-Mart <br />or from a downtown sex shop in Salt Lake City— <br />yellow, rubbery, and without veins— <br />and certainly without blood— <br />or the life-giving fluid <br />to give it that "good-ol'-fashioned feeling"— <br />a documentary that prompted strange looks and strange conversations<br /><br />Jeff Gangwer<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/youtube-and-phalloplasty/
