When you have laid the final piece of track in the world’s longest railway tunnel, you have every reason to party. <br /><br />And that is exactly what workers have been doing at the 57 kilometre long Gotthard base tunnel in the Alps linking Switzerland to Italy. <br /><br />Despite the celebrations, other work is still to be accomplished however and the tunnel is not due to open until June 2016.
