Flooding hits impoverished Gaza Strip, West Bank

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />Residents of the impoverished Gaza Strip and West Bank were hit by fresh flooding on Saturday (November 1), as heavy rains continued to fall across the region.<br/> <br />Streets in Khan Younis had already been swamped with water on Friday.<br/> <br />Fifty days of war in one of the most densely populated parts of the world has left swathes of Gaza in ruins.<br/> <br />The Palestinian Ministry of Public Works and Housing has stated that Gaza needs 5,000 caravans or mobile homes for more than 130,000 displaced Gazans.<br/> <br />Thousands of displaced Palestinians moved into tented camps or caravans, which lack basic services, in the Gaza Strip after their homes were destroyed by Israeli assaults on the enclave.<br/> <br />Residents in the Jordan Valley also had to deal with damaging floods, following two consecutive days of downpours.<br/> <br />According to local weather reports, the heavy rain is expected to ease by Monday (November 3).
