Thousands protest in Burkina Faso's capital, Ouagadougou, to denounce what they're calling a military coup.<br/> <br />They're angry because on Saturday the army backed Lieutenant Colonel Isaac Zida as the nation's transitional leader.<br/> <br />This, after mass protests a few days ago forced its long-ruling president, Blaise Compaore, to resign.<br/> <br />One sign reads, "The soldiers stole our revolution."<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (French) UNIDENTIFIED DEMONSTRATOR, SAYING:<br/> <br />"The army should leave the public scene immediately. The army's role is to safeguard our national territory, so as far as I'm concerned, they've got to go."<br/> <br />The U.N. is urging a transition back to civilian rule as soon as possible.
