Her eyes swell like the ocean <br />Hurricanes swirl and waves crash inside her <br />Torrents overflow out of those stormy grey eyes <br />But just like a summer storm <br />Her vulnerability will be fleeting <br />When morning comes she'll hide the tempest in her heart <br />Behind sun filled smiles and honey sweet words <br />She'll disguise her tears as waterfalls <br />Sparkling streams and promises of rainbows <br />No one remembers summer for destruction <br />Or the ocean for its darkest depths <br />They choose to look past the ugliness <br />That makes such great and terrible beauty possible <br />Summer is merely passionate <br />And the ocean is merely vast <br />So as her moods ebb and flow with the tide <br />They will say 'look how ethereal she is in her loveliness' <br />Her melancholia explained away as delicate beauty<br /><br />Abigail Hauschild<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/storm-chaser-2/
