The youth in my veins comes to life, <br />As the keys jingle at my side, <br />Clinging together as my feet meet the ground, <br />Gaining closer to you. <br />In a dream so silent I couldn't even move, <br />Caught in the trance of your eyes like the night, <br />Nothin else seemed to be happening at that moment, <br />But the feelings deep within told me something different. <br />Moments like that, <br />Aren't supposed to happen, <br />So controlling with a single gaze, <br />That it sweeps me off my feet, <br />And right back into your fantasy. <br />The youth in my veins comes to life, <br />As I hurry to where the night holds you are now, <br />With the illusion of myself in your arms hinting me, <br />On how to make that into a reality. <br />Calling out your name, <br />My heart does, <br />Silently praying that you somehow hear its cry, <br />So this link of fate can become a chain.<br /><br />Alex McCullough<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/link-2/
