In the summer breeze
The white curtains
Of your innocence billow
I lay my head on my pillow
And there..just there..over the seas
A glimpse of scorching fire
And sheer satin dance on the undulating dunes
Of the pale moon. Shall I say you were never mine?
Or that your words, 'Te Amo', were never meant
For me to hear but only for the ears
And deceitful lips of austere Time
Was I never a prince who steered his stallion
By the call of the loon? I remember
How you held the stars in the hollow
Of your tiny hand, your elfin smile
A spear in my heart
And every precious teardropp that fell
From your shimmering eyes
To my soul, a dart; oh Princess, sweet Princess
Take me back, for only your arms can make me well...

Barry Blander

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-moon-so-pale/
