Thou cometh in many a shape and size,
Many a delicate figure and form,
Dedicating all thy life to fragrance,
Thine beauty’s born for every pair of eyes;
Though scarce with a lifespan long art thou born
For long doth linger thy blossom’s romance,
Though thorns is all thou hast for company
No caveats I’ve heard from thee any.

Far sweeter art thou than be pure honey
In thine bosom, and thine bewitching smile
Seems to hail birds and bees all so many,
From all of neighbourhood in a long mile!

How dost thou pack in short life so much punch?
Pray tell; we humans are clueless for hunch!
_________________________________________________
The rhyme scheme: abc/abc/dd for the octave,
ef/ef for the quatrain, and gg for the ending
couplet. The Volta is held up till the couplet.
_________________________________________________
-Sonnets | 08.02.07 |

Aniruddha Pathak

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-secret-of-thy-smile/
