A suicide bomber has killed at least 29 people while they were taking part in a religious Shi’ite Muslim procession in northeast Nigeria.<br /><br />It happened in the market town of Potiskum.<br /><br />In a separate incident in the centre of the country, gunmen using explosives, blew their way into a prison in the city of Lokoja, killing one person and freeing 144 inmates.<br /><br />Two years ago Suni Muslim insurgents Boko Haram attacked the same prison.<br /><br />The group’s five year campaign for an Islamic state has killed thousands.<br /><br />Although a government announced ceasefire with Boko Haram has been dismissed by the group a mediator still says talks are underway for the release of 200 abducted Nigerian school girls.
